Thanks for joining me on another episode of “Moxie’s Me Time”, I have another great facial product I want to share with you. I’m excited to tell you about this one because it’s not only a great product but it’s by a black owned business. Let me introduce you to Bolden USA Skin Care facial cleanser and toner.
I received these products as a gift for Christmas and I’m excited that I did. With the constant changing weather in New England, it’s important I keep breakouts and dry skin at bay. A few things I really enjoy about the cleanser is that a little goes a long way. It effectively removes makeup including waterproof eyeliner and mascara. The cleanser is PH-Balanced which makes it ideal for combination, oily and acne prone skin. It has a fresh pleasant scent and gets soapy easily. The cleanser is gentle enough to use everyday, morning and night.
The skin brightening toner always leaves my face feeling clean. When I use the toner, I rarely followup with a moisturizer. The scent is calm and refreshing. It doesn’t burn or tingle when applied. It has ingredients such as cucumber, lemon extract and witch hazel which are phenomenal in toning the skin.
Each item is less than $20 and can be purchased directly from the website by clicking here.
As much as I love trying out new skin care products, it’s just as important to take care of the inside of my body. I’ve been drinking 60oz of water daily and I recently decided to switch things up with this delicious concoction. The only ingredients are cucumber, lemon and of course water. I juiced both the cucumber and lemon and poured it in my water. Cucumber is a diuretic which helps to flush out excess water in the body and lemon is a cleanser, even though it is acidic it will help to restore PH levels in the body.
Do you prefer to drink plain water or do you enjoy mixing it up a little bit. Leave your comments I would love to hear about it.
I appreciate your time visiting my blog. Stay tuned for more.
If you’ve been on Facebook, Instagram or social media in general you might’ve heard about or seen the latest craze about the black mask, black wax or activated charcoal. While skimming through my Facebook timeline I stumbled on the video of a barber using a charcoal mask on his clients to remove facial hair to produce a very clean finish and I must say I was impressed. The mask removes fine facial hair, black and white heads and produces smooth skin. I must admit I was a little skeptical and quite nervous about using it especially when I saw how painful it could be to remove. I wasn’t ready for that yet. However while shopping at Marshalls I stopped at their skin care aisle and saw a charcoal face wash so naturally I was intrigued and decided to give it a try.
This facial detox lathers really well. It has a medicated scent which was fine to me, it wasn’t overbearing at all. It washes off easily. The label says it “unclogs pores, removes impurities and removes dead skin cells” and because of that I felt like it left my skin feeling dry so I followed up with a moisturizer.
Not only did I use charcoal on my skin but I also used activated charcoal to brush my teeth. I’ve had this bottle for quite some time. I don’t use it very often because it can get very messy opening up the capsules and dumping the black powder on my toothbrush. I’ve read and watched videos that brushing with activated charcoal can whiten teeth. I’ll have to be more diligent and test that theory in the future.
Have you used the black masks or activated charcoal? If so, I’d love to hear about your experience. Please leave a comment and tell me all about it. Until next week….
Hi, I’m Rebekah and I’m a product junkie. I have a very hard time seeing new hair or facial products on the shelves and not trying it. I’ve decided to do weekly sessions of me time and share them with you. These sessions will include new hair products and tools, facial cleansers, toners, face scrubs and the like. I hope you will join me on my blog as I pursue this new adventure. Tonight I’m featuring one of my favorite product lines: Shea Moisture. I’m using their Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Mud Mask. What I really love about this mask is how moisturizing it is. I had this mask on for about an hour and it washed off easily with water. My skin felt extremely soft and I didn’t have to follow up with a moisturizer. I credit the moisture in the mask to the Shea Butter.
Using facial masks and cleansers are great but it won’t replace what we put in our bodies. I’m getting into the habit of drinking more water and so I’ve given myself the goal of drinking a quart of water a day. Water hydrates and will flush my body of toxins which will result in glowing skin. I’m here for the long haul, I hope you will join with me
